Shannon and Steven are the kind of couple who are always having fun. They make each other laugh and can be delightfully happy doing just about anything as long as they’re together. They have picnics, play games and spend the day at the zoo. They watch all the animals and make up fun little back stories for them, drinking in the beauty of the outdoors and enjoying every minute of being together. He loves her silly personality. She loves that he’s always taking care of her and making sure she feels loved. They’re a perfect match.

When they told us about their zoo dates and love of outdoor activities, we just knew we had to incorporate their favorite pass times in their engagement session! What could be a more fun way to capture who they are as a couple then doing the things they love together. When Shannon showed up at the Phoenix Zoo in the cutest animal print skirt we knew that we were going to have an awesome day right along with them!

I have to admit, we were a little bit giddy about using giraffes as the background for these images! It was a first for sure and we LOVED it!

It was so fun to discover all the great photo backdrops the zoo had to offer. And talk about gorgeous light too!

A little outfit change and some more snuggling for these two lovebirds :-)

Does anyone else get the feeling they’re being watched? LOL

Our next stop was a nearby park to hang out on the bleachers. The day Shannon and Steven first met, they were at a football game and Shannon was sitting behind him in the stadium. She took a chance and introduced herself to a cute guy with no shirt and an “I” painted on his chest. (Steven opted not to recreate THAT detail for their photos. Ha ha!)

They put on their D-backs gear to get a little playful out in the fields.

We had SO much fun hanging out with these guys and can’t wait to be a part of their wedding in 2014!
