A Tucson Engagement Session by Phoenix Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise
We’ve had the chance to shoot some pretty cool engagement sessions in our 7+ years as wedding photographers, but when Rebecca asked us if we’d be willing to drive down to Tucson and do their photos at the Reid Park Zoo, where she works as a zoo keeper, we knew we were in for a pretty EPIC day. Rebecca & David took us on an AWESOME backstage tour and we got to photograph them with all kinds of amazing animals. A giant tortoise, giraffes and even a Rhino made a special guest appearances. It was SO. MUCH. FUN! And, since it was the place where this darling couple first met, it was the perfect place to document them in their “natural habitat” – like what I did there? Ha ha! Seriously though, these two are the sweetest and they were so wonderful to hang out with. We usually consider it our job to make sure our couples have a great time during their photo session, but these guys acted as the most gracious hosts to US, wanting to make it an unforgettable experience for us as well. And that it was. Working with the animals certainly had it’s challenges. Like when the giant tortoise “Ferdinand” opted to chase us (very slowly) out of his enclosure rather than pose for pictures. Or our sad attempt to get the 4,000+ pound Rhino “Yebonga” to stand in the “good light.” It was a lot like wrangling a tipsy bridal party for portraits now that I think about it. So, you know, just another “day at the office” I guess. Ha ha! Rebecca & David – we had such a blast with you guys and we can’t wait to see you two walk down that aisle! It’s going to be amazing!
