A couple months before our trip to Kauai for Pam & Trevin’s destination wedding, we found out that our awesome friends Robin and Renee of The R2 Studio were going to be in Hawaii at the same time we were. Clearly, it was a sign that we needed to take advantage of one of the many perks of having fellow photographers as friends and capture some memories of our own. It didn’t take a whole lot of arm twisting to get these talented ladies to hop on a plane from Maui and spend the day with us capturing all the beauty of Kauai’s north shore.
The last time we had photos of us as a couple without our little guy was our maternity session almost three years ago. It felt pretty great just to love on each other and enjoy the stunning locations they found for us. It threatened to rain the entire drive up to the north shore, but we were blessed with some moody overcast skies instead. We kicked off our session in gorgeous Karo field with the most amazing mountain views. Can you believe that the view above was right off the road behind a bunch of shops and restaurants? We were looking at a parking lot but the view behind us was one of the most gorgeous scenes we’d ever laid eyes on.
Next stop – the beach! We drove a short distance and parked by the side of the road where Robin & Renee led us down a small hill through a bank of lush trees. We emerged from the green and were greeted by the most beautiful secluded beach. The waves were crazy! We were actually really carefully while we were out there because many of the beaches in the area were closed because of HUGE 35 foot waves. We finished off our adventure with a yummy dinner, fruity drinks and lots of stories about our amazing kids (of course). It was so special to spend time with our old pals and commemorate our trip with some EPIC images at the same time. We can’t thank you enough R2! Love you guys! We will cherish these beautiful memories forever!
