A Papago Park Vow Renewal by Phoenix Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise
Marybeth & Ken have been married for 43 wonderful years. Over those years they have raised children together, seen their grandkids come into the world, and touched a lot of lives in a lot of ways. Through it all they have stayed true to their love and made an impression on everyone around them. Ken and his family planned a SURPRISE vow renewal ceremony for his lovely bride who was recently diagnosed with cancer. We were honored when their daughter-in-law Debby contacted us and asked us to photograph such a special moment in their lives.

AND don’t forget to click “love” under your favorite images along the way!
Marybeth has been an avid hiker for years and has climbed every peak in Papago Park. It worked out to be the perfect setting.
How cute is this little guy? Love this candid moment of Debby and her youngest son Cole as they waited for Marybeth to arrive.
Under the impression that she was coming to the park for a family photo session, Marybeth was shocked to see what was waiting for her when she stepped out of the car.
Her kids tried to insist that she keep on her comfortable tennis shoes to walk across the desert terrain on crutches, but the first words out of her mouth were, “I’m not walking down the isle in these ugly shoes!” Clearly a woman after my own heart :-) Love it!
Her kids Kirtus and Marjorie escorted her as grandkids Trey and Lily announced the big moment.
Ken’s face as she walked down the isle was just precious.
So many sweet moments!
Love this shot of Trey consoling his mom. Such a good son :-)
Each of their kids got up and shared about their parents and the impact their marriage has had on each of them.
As Kirtus was talking, Lily must have thought he needed some moral support so she walked up and grabbed her dad’s hand. So sweet!
Love their sweet expressions in this one :-)
During the ceremony, Marybeth looked right over at me and gave me an adorable little wink! Seriously, one of the most instantly charming people I’ve ever met.
After the ceremony, we took some family portraits. Little Jake was kind enough to show off his modeling skills to get the camera warmed up for the rest of the group. Hilarious!
Three generations all together on a beautiful day.
Some portraits of the happy couple :-)
Just love these two ! We asked if Marybeth would mind sitting on Ken’s lap and she responded with a little laugh and a “Yes please!” So adorable!
So beautiful inside and out.
Thank you to the Bruntsman family for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful event. Our hearts were truly touched by getting to know all of you. We’ll be thinking about all of you in the months ahead and lifting you up in prayer.
Where did you do this in Papago Park? Did you rent a Ramada space? It’s perfect. I am looking for the same kind of look for my wedding!
