Flagstaff Anniversary Session by Phoenix Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise

For most couples, engagement and wedding photos are the first time they’ve ever had professional photos taken together. And for many of them, it’s the last until they have children and take their first family photos. The sad part is, there’s often a whole lot of life that happens in between. Moments that are precious. Moments that deserve to be captured. Moments that build the foundation of their marriage. That’s why we love anniversary sessions! Every couple should have beautiful memories of their marriage – in every stage.

So when Mark emailed us and asked if we could come up and do a Flagstaff Anniversary session as a surprise gift to Emily we were SO excited! She’s been dreaming of a photo session in the August wildflowers for years. Get out of the heat AND spend the afternoon in a gorgeous field of flowers with our awesome friends? Yeah, he didn’t exactly have to twist our arms. Ha ha! Even though these two live a few hours to the north, we’ve taken advantage of every chance we could get to hang out with them since photographing their wedding last summer. Mark and Emily have the kind of love that makes our hearts fill to the brim with joy. Not only are they the perfect compliment to each other, but they’re also very clearly best friends. You can tell just watching these two interact that they truly respect and admire each other. And they make each other laugh – A LOT! SO glad that we’ve been able to be a part of their lives and capture this wonderful season of their marriage.

Since last summer, Mark & Emily have added a special new member to their family! This sweet little guy is named Oliver and he’s a ball of adorable energy! They were so excited to have some family photos taken of all three of them :-)

I kinda feel like this photo should be on the cover of “Dog Lovers Magazine” or something! Picture perfect!

Oliver was quite a good sport for the first few minutes, but all he really wanted to do was play! Too cute!

We couldn’t love this sweet pair any more :-)

Since this was Emily’s dream session, we thought so she needed some special shots just of her.

We’d had overcast skies for most of the shoot when all of a sudden the sun peaked out and added some beautiful light to our gorgeous setting.
