We had so much fun with Katie and Justin last weekend! It was 112 degrees in Phoenix so we decided to take a little trip up north to Flagstaff for their engagement session. The weather was perfect all day long, about 80 degrees. Justin spent a year living in Flag while attending NAU back in the day so he really knows his way around which was a huge help. :-)
We first met Katie and Justin back in March at Lauren and Chris’ wedding. Justin is actually Lauren’s brother. Since then we’ve had the chance to see them at several other weddings including Katie’s sister Melissa and her husband Bryan. We also shot their friends Meghan and Matt’s wedding back in May. We are so lucky to know all of them. They are all the most amazing couples and we love all of them so much!

There were so many wonderful colors and things to see in Flagstaff. We parked the car at the top of the hill in the historic downtown area and headed down on foot with camera’s in hand. =-) There were tons of these awesome looking buildings along the way. I love these two shots. Katie and Justin are so cute and playful with each other.

Next we found some railroad tracks and decided to take advantage of them. We pulled out the old blue umbrella for a little splash of color.

We found this old unattended train car with graffiti on it. Need we say more?

This one reminds me of an old 1950’s movie.

Maybe it was because we told them to smooch a lot, but these two couldn’t keep their hands off each other! Made our job pretty easy.

Some Favs . . .

We told them to look serious . . . I’m thinking that they pulled it off. Man, Katie is going to be one gorgeous bride!

Is it any surprise that we loved the yellow shoes?

We suggested that they show us some of their dance moves and they didn’t even care that there was a crowd of people watching. How awesome is that???

After a quick change of clothes, we drove down to NAU to get some shots around the campus.

Next, we headed over to the track to hang out on the bleachers. Time for some great acting ::watching the big game::

Katie plays “bored” really well. I love Justin’s reaction in this shot.

Okay, so here’s an “it’s such a small world” moment. When we got to the track, Justin and I started talking about our old high school track teams and discovered that in our Junior year we actually ran against one another at a tournament! Crazy! There’s something about this shot I totally love. They are so FUN!

So in love :-)

Justin’s laugh is amazingly contagious and full of life.

So sweet.

A little VW fun.

I have to say, they make a pretty hot couple.

Thank you so much Katie and Justin for hanging out with us. We can’t wait to spend more time with both of you in a few weeks. Lots of love from both of us!
