Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of capturing Jennifer & Devin’s wedding.  It was such a special and memorable day!  They are an adorable couple who’s faith and dedication to each other and to God is just inspiring to be around.  On top of that, Devin is also a photographer (check out his site) and it’s always such a compliment when another photographer chooses us to document their wedding day.  These two first met when Devin’s sister in law, who was also friends with Jennifer, decided to set them up on a blind date.  It wasn’t exactly love at first sight though because, in Jennifer’s words, “He had blue hair!”  Not sure we ever really got the back story behind the interesting color choice!  Not much came of it until Devin noticed a particular status update on Jennifer’s Facebook page that made him think twice about pursuing her.  The quote read, “A woman’s heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek Him to find her’s.”  And so . . . he did.  The rest is history :-)  Ok, enough commentary from me!  Let’s get to some photos of their day!

(Sign the guestbook if you’d like to be notified when the rest of their photos are available online.)

As always, the day began with the happy couple in separate homes, preparing for the day.  Love the color in this shot of Jennifer’s dress.

How cute is this shot of Jennifer’s Dad when he first saw her in her wedding gown?  Adorable :-)

She made such a beautiful bride!

One of my favorite details: Devin and all of his groomsmen totally rocked the Chuck’s as part of their wedding attire!

That Devin is a pretty cool guy.

Jennifer & Devin opted for a First Look so they’d have plenty of time to get photos done before the ceremony.  Their wedding took place at Papago Park in Phoenix.  Since the park is open to the public, it was a little complicated finding a spot with the right lighting where they wouldn’t have a bunch of strangers watching them!  But it all came together and turned out to be such a beautiful moment between the two of them.

I just love the colors and the amazing view of the “Hole in the Rock” in this next shot!

The boys :-)

The girls :-)

Their beautiful flowers were designed by the fabulous Sheryl Law.  Jennifer also made the cross at the base of her bouquet and gave a matching one to each of her bridesmaids.  She’s a graphic designer so she’s really creative and super talented!

Time for the ceremony!  They played an awesome, peppy version of Cannon in D as the bridal party walked down the isle.  Devin couldn’t help but bust out some dance moves as he waited for his bride!

A sweet moment between Jennifer and her Dad :-)

Ok.  Super sweet story behind these next two shots.  Jennifer and Devin decided early on in their relationship that they did not want to kiss until their wedding day.  So when their pastor pronounced them man and wife and told them to kiss it was literally their first kiss with each other!  And boy did they rock it!  It was AWESOME!

WOOOOOOOO!!!!

After the ceremony we hiked up to the Hole in the Rock for some more portraits.  As you can imagine, they made up for some lost time :-)

You just can’t beat a gorgeous sky like this one.

Love it!

Off to the reception at Tumbleweed Recreation Center in Chandler.  We found out pretty quickly that aside from their many other talents, Jennifer and Devin have some serious moves on the dance floor!  For their first dance they performed a “Venetian Waltz”.

This shot just makes me laugh!  During the honeymoon dance, Jennifer got mobbed by a bunch of overeagar dance partners!  Don’t worry, Devin came to her rescue :-)

At the end of the night, they changed into their “get away” outfits.  We just had to take advantage of their cuteness one more time and squeeze in a few more portraits.

In true Jennifer & Devin style, they wrapped up the night with a swing dance routine!

So fun!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Hanson!  You guys are awesome and we had so much fun being a part  of your day!  Best wishes for all of God’s blessings in the years to come!  Don’t miss out on the slideshow for more photos from their wedding day!

Seriously, there are so many good ones it’s hard to pick favorites!!!! Am I full of my self to think that the black and white shot of me is Awesome (one of my favorites). I also love the color shot of the dress, the black and white where jen has her foot in the air, the kiss in front of the reeds, and all of the black and white shots. (I don’t know why, but I’m kind of partial to black and white shots. It’s something about the simplicity of the image, it really allows you to focus on the moment that was captured). Ryan and Denise, YOU TWO ARE GREAT PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!!! You set a good standard for me to aim for with my own work!! And by the way, thanks for the link to my site :-)

  3. woooww jennfer you made such a beautiful bride… Devin is really a lucky guy
