A Camelback Mountain Proposal by Phoenix Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise

From the moment we got Josh’s first email, we knew we were in for an adventure: “I’m looking to hire a photographer to secretly capture my upcoming proposal – we both love hiking and my plan is to propose at the top of Camelback Mountain – I know that coordinating someone to hike to the top of Camelback to take a few pictures this time of year requires a special (and well hydrated) photographer. But alas, it’s worth a shot.”

We have come to truly love capturing proposals, but let’s be honest – we had our doubts. We are not, I repeat, NOT hikers, but we’re also not the type of photographers who can stand the thought of not having beautiful photos to commemorate life’s most precious moments. So after chatting with Josh on the phone and hearing his enthusiasm and love for his darling Jennah, we decided we just couldn’t say no.

Josh & Jennah had met in college back in Winsconsin. After falling for each other and finishing their undergrad work, they set out hand in hand to continue their education in sunny AZ. Between study sessions, they love spending time in the outdoors, especially on the hiking trails where they can soak in the beauty of the desert.

The big day came and we got up before the sun to get started on the trail. Josh planned to head up with Jennah shortly after to give us time to get in place before the big moment. In spite of the moments when we kinda felt like we were melting on a giant stair stepper in the 62% humidity, 100+ temps and rocky uphill climb, it was all worth it knowing we were able to give this sweet couple memories that will last a lifetime.

Nothing quite like a gorgeous city view as the backdrop for a once in a lifetime moment.

There wasn’t much of it, but we found a few patches of shade at the bottom of the trail for a few portraits of these cuties :-)
