To create a fine wine, the grapes must be thoughtfully grown, meticulously harvested and carefully pressed. Then – you wait. Aged until just the right moment, the elements combine to make an impeccable blend of flavor. It’s a lot like marriage actually. Two people who compliment each other meet, combine their lives, endure challenges and wait to see the deep and meaningful relationship that comes as a result. Hillary & Graham are the perfect example. They’ve had their share of bumps along the way, but their love has grown and blossomed into something that’s truly beautiful. They’ve come to appreciate the ways that they’re different and compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses. They support each other, laugh together and love deeply.
Photographing their wedding day was a dream for us. Not only because they’re a gorgeous couple who celebrated saying “I do” in a stunning winery filled with swoon-worthy details, but also because they are one of our own. Hillary is the youngest of 8 cousins on my mom’s side of the family, so we’ve grown up in each other’s lives. Walking alongside my “baby cousin” on such a perfect day was incredibly special. I’ll never forget holding her train as we walked to the spot where she would see her dad, and then Graham for the first time in her wedding gown. We loved being able to not only share in these special moments, but also to capture them so that they will be able to relive this day for the rest of their lives.
Can you tell that we’re just a little excited to share this one? Ha ha! And of course, we can’t help but give a shout out to all of the AMAZING vendors who helped make their day so perfect! This one was especially close to our hearts so working alongside such a wonderful, talented team was so special! We grew very fond of Carrie (Bridal Bliss Event Planning), Hanna (Maysara Winery) and Brendan (Schild Creative) leading up to and on their big day – thank you for helping our darling “baby cousin’s” wedding dreams come true! It meant so much to us to see it all come together. (Check out the bottom of the post to see the full list of talented vendors.)
Now, we’ll stop gushing and show you some of our favorite moments from their day! (But wait! One last thing – another perk of shooting a wedding for our own family was that our sweet little boy was there as a guest! We were pretty busy, so he hung out with his Papa, Grandma, Nana, Aunts and cousins while we were shooting, but it was still so fun to see him in his little bow tie. His cute mug just might make a cameo appearance in the blog post so keep a look out for a tiny, extra adorable version of us. LOL!)
