On Saturday I turned 30! I like to refer to it as “Denise 3.0” – that way it sounds like more of a software update rather than getting old :-) When I woke up that day, I thought that my day would consist of the following:

1. Sleeping in (One of my favorite pass times)
2. A “pedi” with my BFF Julie
3. Dinner at my favorite restaurant, Fleming’s with Ryan, Julie & her hubby Jimmy
4. Snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie with Ryan

Well, 1 through 3 were right on the money. What I didn’t know was, as Ryan was driving us home from dinner, there was a big surprise that he planned waiting for me – a house full of some of my favorite people! He even did a bunch of decorating and set up a super fun photo booth to commemorate the evening. SO FUN!!! I was totally surprised and had such a blast.

My sweet hubby put so much time and effort into planning such a fun night for me! Love that guy TONS! And a big shout out to Ryan’s mom Lanie who headed up the party set up while we were at dinner and to Julie & Jimmy for being such good little liars!

All these fabulous peeps are couples who we first met because they hired us to shoot their wedding! Man are we lucky that our job allows us to do something we love AND form awesome friendships along the way!

Ryan – you outdid yourself. I love you SO much! Thanks for making me feel so special. I honestly couldn’t have had a better birthday. If day 1 of my thirties is any indication of what’s to come, then I’m in for a pretty awesome decade!
