Las Sendas Wedding at the Trailhead Members Clubhouse

I’m pretty smitten with this wedding couple, but I also might be just a little bit biased because the groom was my dad :-)  We were so blessed to be able to capture and participate in the day as my dad married his sweet love Helen at the Trailhead Members Clubhouse at Las Sendas.  Helen is truly an amazing person. She’s been a huge blessing to all of us already and it was wonderful to welcome her into our family and to spend time getting to know hers. Watching the two of them together just warms my heart. I can’t help but thank God for the wondrous plans he has for our lives, even when we don’t see them coming.  I can’t imagine a better match for my dad!

We started out the day playing the role of photographers to create some portraits of the happy couple. Their first look was SO adorable! They were as excited as a couple of kids to see each other for the first time.

As we were finishing up their photos there was an ambush of hugs from some of the grandkids! Too cute.

We’ve mentioned on our blog before that we use an awesome company called Showit for our website.  Not only does Showit allow us to create a website that it’s uniquely ours, they lead an amazing networking group called the “Showiteers” that fosters service and community among photographers all over the world.  Well, oddly enough, the first time we met Helen she told us about her son Kevin who lived in Santa Barbara and was one of the leaders of a website company geared towards photographers. As chance would have it, Ryan had been watching Kevin on the daily “Showit Live” video cast for months!  Who would have guessed that Kevin would soon become our brother?  Shall we all sing “It’s a Small World” now? LOL! We could not be more thrilled to have Kevin, his beautiful wife Crystal and the rest of their family as a part of ours!

Time for us to put on our wedding guest hats for a while.  Dad & Helen wanted us to have a chance to participate in their ceremony as well, so we were blessed to have some awesome friends (and fellow Showiteers) Amy & Jordan come shoot during the ceremony and family photos part of the day.

All TEN grandkids served as flower girls/ring bearers.  One sweet little behind the scenes detail:  the flower petals that they dropped were extra special.  My Dad has given Helen a dozen roses every week since they started dating and she has dried them all so they were what filled the kids baskets.  LOVE!

Our adorable nephew Kaleb decided that dropping handfuls of the petals was too slow so he just dumped his entire bucket and stood there trying to figure out what everybody was laughing at.

As you can imagine, with 10 grand kids running around there was no end to the adorable kid moments.

At the end of the ceremony they welcomed the whole family up to pray together.

There was even a call in guest who couldn’t make it in person, but wanted to wish the newlyweds all the best.
