Yesterday was a BIG day for us. We had our 19 week ultrasound and got to find out that Baby Gotcher is a BOY! Move over pink and tutus – we’ve got lots of blue and bow ties in our future!

We both had a feeling it was going to be a boy – mostly because all of the names we’ve been drawn to have been girl names. So it was pretty much a guarantee that it couldn’t be THAT easy. Ha ha! We’re thrilled and so excited to finally start planning for our little blue bundle of joy to arrive in May 2015.

We decided to go a little bit outside the box for our gender reveal. We’ve heard a lot over the last few years about parties, color confetti filled balloons, mystery blue/pink cakes and things like that, but for whatever reason, we felt compelled to experience this awesome little adventure just the two of us. It’ truly one of life’s GREATEST surprises and we really wanted to share the moment in a quieter way than finding out in front of a room full of people. However, we also wanted something a little more memorable than just the typical ultrasound room conversation.

Years back, long before Baby Gotcher was even a thought in the back of our minds, we had both seen a video on facebook of a couple who came up with a sweet plan to find out the gender just the two of them, but they also took a video so they could have their private moment and still have a great way to share the news with their family and friends. As our own gender reveal day approached, we both knew that doing something similar would be the best fit to fulfill our desire for intimacy AND how much we love to share our big news with the world.

It was so special and so much fun to make! So if you haven’t already seen it on Facebook, here’s our gender reveal adventure:

We didn’t take along our cameras, but we did manage to grab a couple of iPhone pics along the way.

It was so good to see our sweet little guys face and watch him wiggle on the ultrasound! He’s changed SO much since the last one! We did kind of joke that he looked like a tiny snowman – at least it’s very appropriate for the season, right?

Our baby boy is measuring right on schedule for 19 weeks, but I still just have a small baby bump to show for it. Can’t complain though – I feel pretty great and I’m loving that I’m starting to feel tiny kicks.

So excited and so glad that we were able to make it such a special moment. Bring on the bow ties!

Special thanks to our wonderful Ultrasound tech Jana and the super sweet associate from Gap who took time out of his very busy (holiday-shopper-filled) day to accommodate our silly request!
