A Phoenix Arizona Wedding by Phoenix Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise

Jessie and Nels tied the knot in the backyard of Jessie’s parents beautiful home in Phoenix. You might say that their big day was a long time in the making … and I’m not just talking about the year they spent planning the wedding or their dating relationship leading up to that. These two have pretty much known each other their whole lives. Growing up, Nels was known around the Strunk house as a friend of Jessie’s brother.  During his reception toast, he actually told a story about a time when Jessie’s dad was his childhood soccer coach. The team was in a tie game against one of their arch rivals. He told the boys that whoever scored the winning goal could marry one of his daughters! Any guesses who took home the MVP trophy that day? LOL!  (Jessie’s dad never actually said that, but it was just too great not to include!)  I doubt that Mr. Strunk realized way back then that he actually would be awarding Nels with that prize one day!

Their wedding was truly a wonderful day, overflowing with laughter and beautiful memories.

Miss Jessie was cool as a cucumber as she got her hair and makeup done at the house.

Since the guys were at Jessie & Nels house, their sweet pup Dierks got to be in on all the action. He got a little up close and personal with Ryan’s lens. LOL!

And Nels was looking pretty sharp himself as he waited to see his bride for the first time.

These two laughed a TON while we were doing their portraits. It was so much fun to watch them having so much fun together!

Did I mention how absolutely beautiful this house was! This door way was AMAZING!

Not only was this a great looking bridal party, they were a total blast to work with to!

Rather than have to move the entire set up around between the ceremony and reception, Jessie & Nels opted to have their ceremony on the dance floor and let their guests relax and enjoy the reception seating inside the tent. The details were stunning and we just loved the way the color scheme and florals were weaved throughout all of the decor.

Time to make things official!

After the ceremony, the guys switched into these awesome red vans and shades. AWE-SOME!

And the ladies were rockin’ their red shoes too!

As the sun set and the weather cooled down, the party was heating up inside!

The first dance :-) I absolutely loved the gorgeous chandeliers in the tent – they added such a wonderful ambiance.

The mother-son dance was absolutely hilarious! Nels and his mom had an entire routine worked out that even included his & hers “lifts!”

And let me tell you, this was one crazy fun party! The dance floor was packed all night. In the words of Ryan’s twitter page that night, “If this party had a hook, it would be off it.”
