Tinder may have a bit of a reputation as just a “hook-up” app, but it turned out to be quite instrumental in Katie and Garrett’s love story. Katie had been living with an exceptionally difficult roommate for some time until that fateful day when she’d finally had enough. She packed her things and decided to stay with family until she could figure out a new living situation. As you probably already know, Tinder is a location based app that shows you images of other users near you.  Katie certainly wasn’t in her usual “location,” but she just happened to log on and come across a rather good looking guy named Garrett. A quick “swipe right” later and the rest was history. If Katie hadn’t been where exactly she was at that very point in time, she may never have met the love of her life.

Katie and Garrett’s intimate wedding in Sedona was everything we love about photographing elopements. Their guest list consisted of only their parents so they were completely free to make their special day exactly what they’d always dreamed of. They said their “I do’s” on a beautiful overlook with stunning views of Sedona’s Cathedral Rock. It was about a 10 minute hike from the road down to their special spot, so the ladies donned tennis shoes and carried their heels along the way. They read their own vows and Katie’s dad served as their officiant, sharing wonderful stories about each of them. As the sun got low, the full moon peaked it’s way over the red rocks and gave way to a gorgeous cotton candy sky. It was nothing short of a dream and we loved every minute of it.
