Salt River Engagement Session by Scottsdale Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise
Heather thought she’d be in the running for “Girlfriend of the Year” when she started planning an awesome graduation celebration for Daniel. She sent out invites, picked a fun-filled venue and made sure everything would go off without a hitch. The Buffalo Chip Saloon would be the perfect spot and a nice nod to the night they met. Back then they had been just a couple of strangers who locked eyes across a crowded room and ended up dancing the night away at Toby Keith’s Bar & Grill. Every day since, Daniel had been making her laugh and filling her life with love. That’s exactly what she wanted to do for him in honor of all he’d been working so hard for.
When the evening had arrived, all their family and friends were gathered and it seemed like her plans were coming together perfectly. She wasn’t usually one for big speeches, but at the urging of his parents, she’d even agreed to do a toast in his honor. As she made her way to the stage with the house band all around her, she could feel a nervous knot growing in her stomach. Just as she was about to begin, Daniel bounded up to the stage in his usual playful way, beaming from ear to ear. The light danced in his amazing blue eyes, just like the night they first met. Before she even had a chance to think, he had grabbed the mic, dropped to one knee and asked her to be his wife. Heather couldn’t believe it! All this time, she’d been planning her own engagement party and she was the only one who didn’t know it! As she responded with a resounding “YES!” the crowd erupted into wild cheers, lead by the voices of all of those they held most dear. It was an unforgettable night!
From the moment we first saw Heather and Daniel on the dance floor at Sam & Dustin’s wedding, we couldn’t wait to get this darling pair in front of our cameras! We had a feeling, even then, as she played the role of maid of honor for her beloved sister, that it wouldn’t be very long until she was an RD Bride herself. We had a blast capturing engagement photos for these two lovebirds along the Salt River last week. They were just the right amount of sweet and silly to make us love our jobs even more. We can’t wait to join these two in Coronado Island, CA this summer as they tie the knot! Here are a few favorites from our time together:
