Remember last summer when we did our “Tell Us Your Love Story” wedding photography give away?  Well, after we met the winners, Becca & Danny, we were feeling pretty good about our decision. They were a sweet couple, very cute and totally thankful for the opportunity.  After shooting their engagement session on Saturday – we are now absolutely THRILLED about our choice!  Not only did we have a blast with them, they also have awesome chemistry in front of the camera and it literally became one of our favorite engagement sessions ever!  We also got a lot more insight into the kind of people that they are.  Which of course, made us like them even more!

They caught us up on what’s been going on in their lives since we first met.  Becca’s mom had a very serious stroke in December and has been living with them during her rehabilitation.  With so much going on in the family, a lot of their wedding plans have been put on hold to focus on helping her.  They’re even looking for a house that will be a better fit to accommodate three people rather than just two.  This was certainly an unexpected twist in their love story, but to hear them talk about it and rejoice in how far Becca’s mom has come you can clearly see what an amazing couple they are.  Even though we chose them as our contest winners before this happened, it just confirmed to us that they were truly meant to win and we’re so glad that we can be one piece of their wedding planning that they don’t have to worry about! We can’t wait to be apart of their wedding in June and look forward to seeing Becca’s mom there to celebrate with them!

We started their session on the campus of ASU near Tempe First United Methodist where they both attend church.  The campus was a great spot for a fun urban feel.

Our next stop was an awesome tree grove out in Gilbert that we discovered recently.  Totally one of our new fav locations!  I absolutely loved how the colors in Becca’s dress really pop among all the neutral colored trees and leaves.

Let’s see . . . how many ways can we figure out to make Danny pick her up?  LOL!  He got a pretty good work out and was a totally good sport about it too!

We wanted to do a little shooting through the trees so we sent them into the brush for a few shots.  Ryan said it felt like we were on “Wild Kingdom” stalking mysterious animals in the forest. LOL!

Favorite series of shots EVER!  We posed Becca in front with Danny standing behind her.  And then Ryan secretly told Danny to sneak up behind her and pick her up. Her reaction is so cute and I just love the proud look on Danny’s face!
