Earl & Nicole

Happy 4th of July Everybody!  It’s been a crazy week so this is the first chance I’ve had to post about the awesome engagement shoot we did last weekend.

Last Saturday, Ryan and I headed up to Sedona to shoot with Earl & Nicole.  Unfortunatly for us, it was only about 5 degrees cooler up there so heading north was really no relief from the OVER 110 degree weather :-(  Despite the heat, this couple was great to work with and we came away with some amazing shots.

Earl & Nicole will be having their wedding at The Secret Garden in October.  They split their time between Surprise and Prescott, so they’ve been coming to Sedona for years to enjoy the red rocks and amazing views.  They even named their puppy “Sedona”, so of course it made the perfect back drop for their engagement photos.  We had SO much fun spending the day with these guys!  They are such cool, easy going people and we all hit it off the very first time we met.  Earl is a freelance travel writer so he had already scoped out some great spots for us to explore.

It was honestly really hard to choose favorites for this post – I loved so many of the shots!

Ryan laid on the burning hot pavement for about 5 minutes to get this next shot!  I think Earl and Nicole thought he was a little crazy, but what can I say – great photos are worth a few 3rd degree burns.

One of the locations we shot at was a place called Talaqapaque.  It’s a cool little arts and crafts village with awesome Spanish architecture and tons of neat nooks and crannnies – great for shooting a couple in love!

Then we headed out to enjoy some of the natural beauty of Sedona . . .

We visited this great hiking trail with AWESOME views to watch the sun set.  Love, love, love this next one!

Probably my favorite shot of the whole day . . .

Grabbed this one in a cool little cafe where we had smoothies and appetizers after a long day of shooting.

I have to say Ryan and Denise are amazing photographers. In their photos of us, they have captured the love I have for Nicole. It was hot on the day of the shoot and we were all burning up, but it was the most fun I can ever remember having in front of the camera. I hope the people that view their shots of us are as impressed as I am.

Stay tuned – we ain’t done yet, there is still a wedding coming up!

Your photos and slideshow are awesome. My favorite shots are the one in the brick tunnel, the B&W with Nicole leaning in for a kiss (I think you this is one of your favorites too), and the one with you standing side by side hold hands (3rd from the top). Your photographers have done a fantastic job capturing the beauty and essence of your love.

We are looking forward to the Big Day! Please let us know if there’s anything we can help with.

    Love you both.

  5. (Aunt)Yolanda & Uncle Derrick says:

Such AWESOME and beautiful pictures Nicole and Earl!

The colors, backgrounds, originality, and romance in each photo is just “picture perfect”! You two look great together. Your photographers’ did a fantastic job…and it doesn’t hurt to have great models like you two, right? (smile).

Gosh…you make us want to go take engagement pictures again…and we’ve been married for 8 years!

Best wishes, enjoy the ride, and though the wedding is just one day…enjoy every moment without stressing over every detail. Start your marriage out knowing the the wedding is for a day but the marriage is for a lifetime. Keep the love, joy, and passion from these pictures and let it carry you through through many years to come.

    We love you all!
