A Four Seasons Troon North Scottsdale proposal by Scottsdale Wedding Photographers Ryan & Denise
Last Christmas, Alyson gave Alex a collection of letters. One was for him to open on his birthday, one for Christmas morning the following year and many more to commemorate all kinds of different occasions. But there was one of them that came with a an extra special promise. It was a promise that the rest of the letters wouldn’t just be speculation, but mile markers on a long and winding journey. A promise that their futures wouldn’t be as two separate people who happened to be in a relationship, but that they would be an “Us” for the rest of their lives. The outside of the envelope read, “Open on the day that you propose.”
Alex could feel his heart racing as he reached for that very special letter. He peeled back the envelope to reveal a card with a photo on the front. It was an image of two dogs, a black and yellow lab, hanging their heads over the tailgate of a blue truck. One of them held a Frisbee in its mouth and the other one, a tennis ball as they drove side by side down a country road. Two happy pups, eagerly awaiting their unknown destination who couldn’t wait to play. It was the perfect picture of their relationship. Two people who couldn’t wait to share every adventure that life had to offer them, no matter where the road would lead.
On the inside of the card Alyson wrote about their travels, how he had opened her eyes to see the world in a new way and how she couldn’t wait to be his wife. The very last sentence read, “So now – take a deep breath, and breathe. My answer will be YES!” She had signed it “Your Future Fiance.”
A few hours after Alex had opened the letter, they were walking across a bridge in Old Town Scottsdale, in the same neighborhood where they’d spent their very first date. He’d never been very good at keeping secrets and this one was bursting to get out of him. He’d told her that they were meeting a client of his for lunch so she didn’t think anything of it as they walked towards their destination. Alex had been planning this moment for weeks and had thought about exactly what he wanted to say, but as he stopped her and got down on one knee, all he could think about was her letter. So he took a deep breath, pulled out the ring he’d been hiding in his pocket and waited for the word he was dying to hear. Just as she promised it would be, her answer was YES!
We has so much fun documenting this special moment for Alex & Alyson and then doing a mini-engagement shoot for them at the Four Seasons Troon North Scottsdale. Congratulations you guys!
Beautiful……congrats
