It was prom night 2009. As the dance was winding down, there was talk of an after party, but Jake knew right away that he had something else in mind. His date that night was very special. From the moment Becky had walked into his study hall class, the cute new girl from another school, he’d thought that he would marry her someday. It only took three years for her to actually agree to date him. And now, here he was, on prom night with Becky on his arm. An average after party just wouldn’t do. He had a better plan. He took Becky by the hand and led her up the stairs to a rooftop that overlooked the whole city. It was the most beautiful skyline view that either of them had ever seen. He played Frank Sinatra on his phone and they danced and talked for hours. It felt like a fairytale.

Fast forward five years – Jake & Becky sat across from each other at dinner on what seemed like a pretty average evening. “You know what’s really close to here?” he asked her casually, “That rooftop from prom night. We should totally go up there after dinner.” Being the adventurer that she was, Becky didn’t scoff at the freezing temperatures. She happily followed as they climbed the familiar stair case wrapped up in blankets, trying not to shiver. As they gazed out on the view once again, Jake dropped to his knee. Becky’s breath caught in her throat for a minute, until he pulled out a beautiful, sparkling… candy ring pop! Typical Jake – always making a joke! She loved his crazy sense of humor. But then, he pulled out another ring – and this one wasn’t made of candy. She was still pretty convinced it was all a joke, until she noticed a tear in his eye. (He swears it was just because of the cold, but she knew better than that.) It didn’t take long for her to realize what was happening. As her own eyes welled up, she only had one word on her lips – YES!

Honestly, I don’t think we could have loved our time with Becky & Jake any more! From the moment we met these two, we knew they were going to be a blast to work with. Funny, adorable and totally smitten with each other. They have that feeling about them like two people who have spent their whole lives together and still don’t want to spend a minute apart. Not only do they love each other deeply, they honestly LIKE each other too – best friends who are just happy to have the chance to hang out together. They mentioned that one of their favorite pastimes is driving Jake’s truck into the middle of the forest, laying a blanket out in the back and camping the night away.  Wrapped in each other’s arms and probably making each other laugh the whole time. I have no doubt that these two have a long and happy road ahead, filled with countless adventures.
