February has been a very busy month. We launched our “Fur-tography” Pet Mini Session event and it sold out within a week. So of course, we had to add more times slots which proceeded to sell out AGAIN! Our R&D family has been growing leaps and bounds as we’ve been meeting with awesome new couples who have booked us to shoot their weddings in 2014 and 2015. AND we’ve managed to fit in several corporate event shoots and catch some Oscar nominated movies along the way. In between all of that, a little something unexpected was dropped in our lap early this month that’s turned our lives a bit upside down.
On the evening of January 30 we welcomed a little visitor into our house. A 10 pound furry visitor to be exact. We found a cute little mini pin roaming the streets of our neighborhood. He was so scared we couldn’t get within 2 feet of him. Skinny and exhausted, he looked like he’d been out on his own for a while. His dirty, copper colored coat barely hid his bones and his scared eyes were wide with the stress of being frightened for a long time. It took several hours, but we managed to lure him into the house with some deli meat. The scared little guy hid under our table and could barely keep his eyes open. Several hours of napping and a bowl of dog food later, he finally stopped shaking. Eventually, he tentatively reached out and licked my hand ever so softly. Then without warning, the tiny, scared pup leaped into my lap and snuggled close. And I have to admit, his sweet brown eyes and desperate cuddles wiggled their way straight into my heart.
We’ve spent quite a bit of time looking for his owners and another home for this cute little guy, but after several weeks, I think he’s here to stay.
We’re all still adjusting to being a two dog family, especially Miss Molly! She’s just starting to get used to having a younger, more active, always playful brother to share the spotlight with. Most of the time she just watches him running around wondering what all the fuss is about. Ha ha!
He’s definitely a strong personality, but she’s a smart girl. She just sits back and waits for him to get distracted so she can steal back her toys ;-)
Welcome to the family little guy! We’re still deciding on a name for him so we’ve been calling him “buddy” and “TBD” for the time being. Ha ha! The front runners at the moment are “Fallon” after our favorite late night host or “Lennon” after my favorite member of The Beatles. If you guys have any great name ideas leave them in the comments!
He’s so cute! He looks like a Gizmo to me.
