Phoenix wedding photographer shoots chilly family portraits at the Park at Anthem
Last Saturday, I made the drive up to Anthem to shoot some portraits for the Aker family: Allison and Kelly, their kids Keila and Chance and their boxer Smiley.
On Friday, it had rained quite a bit so the whole drive up, I was hoping desperatly for the clouds to stay away until after we’d had some time to shoot. We got lucky and it didn’t rain, but was it ever cold and windy! Allison had planned ahead (being the smart mom that she is,) and had the boys, Kelly and Chance wear black shirts and she and Kelia were dressed in white. They all looked super cute, however, it was so cold that that the gals were wearing jackets to keep warm. They kept having to take off their coats, pose for me (while trying not to shiver), then put their coats back on while we moved to another location. Even Smiley was shivering! I felt so bad for all of them! I was freezing too, but at least I got to keep my coat on! They were all SUCH good sports.
I hope that the hudled together pose in these first two helped at least a little in keeping out the cold!
I love the whole group’s expression in this next one! Smiley looks like he’s thinking “What’s everybody looking at me for?”
A shot of the “Kids” (human and canine)
Smiley threw in his own little touch for this pose.
And of course, he needed at least one headshot just for himself!
Here’s a few more of the family:
Thanks for braving the cold you guys! I sure hope you fared better than I did – I ended up with a bad cold that I’m still getting over. Yuck!
