About a month ago, we were honored to capture something very special. Ken and his family planned a SURPRISE vow renewal ceremony for his lovely bride of 43-years, MaryBeth. MaryBeth had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and the family wanted to do something extra special to celebrate her life. Needless to say, we absolutely fell in love with this beautiful couple and their loving family!
Doctors are now telling her family that she has only about 6 weeks left and to enjoy every moment together. When MaryBeth was first diagnosed, she told the family that one of her greatest wishes was to go to the Rose Bowl Parade. With her health deteriorating rapidly, it’s unlikely that she’ll be able to see that wish through. Her family has decided to create their own version of the Rose Bowl Parade and they are asking for donations of flowers in order to make that dream a reality.
We’re reaching out to brides and wedding industry friends to help this wonderful family! Here’s how you can help!
- If you are a BRIDE getting married on April 6th, please consider donating your remaining flowers at the end of your wedding day to the Brutsman family. Use the button below to make arrangements.
- If you are a VENDOR willing to donate flowers or share a connection with them, please get in touch with us and we will put you in contact with the family to make arrangements.
- If you WANT TO SEND FLOWERS, please contact LUX Wedding Florists at 602-507-4200. LUX has graciously donated their time and resources to help the family with design. Any orders placed will become part of the arrangement for the big reveal on Sun, April 7. Please note: all orders must be in by 3pm on Saturday.
- If you’d like to make a MONETARY DONATION to the family to purchase more flowers, please use the “donate” button below. All donations will go directly to the family as this button is linked to their PayPal account.
Please share this with your brides or anyone else who might be interested in participating. And you’re more than welcome to share their story on social media as well to help spread the word. Link to this post to direct others to their story.
Use the buttons below or email us directly at studio@ryananddenise.com if you would like to help. Thank you in advance for your support!

We asked MaryBeth & Ken if they had any words of advice for a long lasting marriage. They told us “Don’t be afraid of fighting – sometimes it leads to good things.” and “Never give up.” Thank you for allowing us to be truly inspired by your love!
