The students in her 8th grade Science class were buzzing with the usual Friday afternoon, last class of the day energy as Kara began her lesson. She paused for a moment as she saw the assistant principal walk in and quietly stand in the back of the room. No big deal. She must just be here doing a routine class observation. She continued her lesson, unfazed by the visitor until her principal walked in. “Kara? Can I chat with you out in the hallway for a moment?” Seriously? She thought. In the middle of an observation? Could there be any worse timing? She let the students know she’d be right back and walked out into the hallway. As they chatted for a few minutes about an issue with the upcoming state testing booklets, Kara couldn’t help but feel a little frazzled. Did they really have to talk about this RIGHT NOW? The pair finished their discussion and she anxiously walked back into the room. Out of nowhere, she was greeted by another unexpected guest – a wiggling, panting, excited ball of soft golden fur – her pup Louie! What on earth? She looked up and saw Zack standing at the front of the room, waiting for her. What were they doing here? Zack had come by her class a couple times during lunch and even snuck Louie in with him, but during a class? While she was being observed? And the principal was in the hallway? Suddenly, the confusion (and panic) started to fade as she realized what was happening. And before he’d even said a word, her eyes filled up with tears. She walked to the front of the room as Zack got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said “yes” to the roar of cheers from her students, the principal and a few other teachers who had dropped in for the surprise . . . and the assistant principal who captured it all on video from her iPad.

Kara and Zack – your proposal story is almost as adorable as you two are in person! We had an absolute blast spending time with you and meeting the amazing Louie for your engagement session!
