Audrey & Aaron’s Maternity Session: Chandler, AZ

You might say that it’s been a pretty eventful year for Audrey & Aaron :-)  They got married last October at the beautiful Hotel Del Coronado.  As soon as they got back from their honeymoon they moved across the country to Chicago.  A couple short months into this new adventure, they discovered that another one was just around the corner – a baby girl.  So, they decided to pack up the moving truck once again and head back to good old AZ to be close to family.  They left in October as newlyweds and as of early July they’ve returned as a Mommy & Daddy-to-be.  Have I mentioned that we love these two?  No?  Well, it’s true.  Being a part of their wedding was such an honor and now it’s so awesome to be able to document this brand new journey for them.  Their baby girl is due in about 8 days!  So exciting!

I know what you’re thinking, maternity photos in the middle of August at nine months pregnant?  Are you trying to kill this poor girl?  LOL!  Sadly, babies don’t always think about the 100 plus Arizona temps when they decide on their due date.  And of course, with them living in Chicago we weren’t able to fit in a session with them at the usual 7-8 month mark (not that it would have been a whole lot cooler then either!)  Audrey & Aaron were total troopers though! You’d never know by looking at these two adorable expectant parents that they were the least bit uncomfortable.  We love these guys!

Belly bump!!!

We got about half an hour into our session and a crazy dust storm (aka. Revenge of the Haboob) sprung it’s ugly head followed by crazy winds and showers.  You can totally see the dust filled clouds creeping towards us in this next shot.

We took cover in a Mexican food restaurant to wait out the storm, but it took pretty much all the daylight with it.   We did head over to the San Marcos Resort and braved the weather for a few more shots, but we didn’t want to cut things too short so we decided to reconnect the following week for some more.  We also made Baby Newby promise not to come early ;-)  Luckily, she decided to go along with our plans.

Aaron felt left out of all of the belly holding so he decided to get in on the game.  Silliness :-)

We set up this first shot of Aaron with Audrey’s shadow, but we have to give props to him for coming up with the “belly shadow kiss” all on his own.  How adorable is that?
