#64: Get a makeover & invest in new makeup (Denise)

I guess I should preface this post by saying that I’ve never been one of those girls that was really into makeup. In fact, my typical makeup purchase takes place at (gasp) the grocery store and costs me under $5. I’ve always just thought all of the expensive stuff was a little bit too self indulgent for me. But, as I’ve gotten older (and a lot wiser) I have learned that it’s not always a bad thing to invest a little bit in your self. AND you usually get what you pay for. So, with these two thoughts in mind, I decided to add “#64: Get a makeover & invest in new makeup to recreate it” to my 101 in 1001 list.

Ryan’s fabulous mom Lanie, gave me a gift card for Nordtrom’s for Christmas with very specific instructions that it was to be used to accomplish #64! (Always nice to know that your family is paying attention to your blog, right? LOL!) So, last weekend, I went to visit the Mac makeup counter for a little bit of self indulgence. And of course, I came up with a whole bag full of fun goodies.

I didn’t get around to having Ryan take a post-makeover pic of me until many hours later, but I think it actually still looked pretty good – probably another testament to what makes the expensive stuff worth the big bucks, right?
